I’m working on recovering from anxiety and panic attacks. I have a strong knowledge about anxiety and panic attacks. The panic attacks are well under control. But I’m still working on the uncomfortable sensations and symptoms of anxiety. I insist not to be depended on medication. So I just want to have an idea on others to know how long does it usually take to be recovered without medication.

Hi there. I am 29 years old and have anxiety my whole life. panic attacks come and go, but anxiety is pretty much always there.
I didnt start using medication until I was about 27, I started on zoloft, then it stopped working and I just stopped using pills in general. I did this for about 7 months and I was a wreck the whole time. I started taking prozac and thats not helping my anxiety at all. so now.. I dont know what to do with myself. They say medication can help but I dont see a lasting difference.
Before I took the medication I would deal with my anxiety disorder by always making sure I am comfortable in all I do. Whereever I would go, I would plan for it and how I would make sure I have the comfort and time alone if needed. I think being prepared with pepto or immodium would help if anxiety would cause stomach issues.
I am impressed your doing it on your own!
I only started taking the meds because I started getting so depressed because I felt my life was so limited by my anxiety.

Heath Ledger, 28, died of a possible drug overdose involving sleeping pills in New York.
He was found dead in his bed at his apartment on Broome Street, Soho, in Manhattan, found by his housekeeper about 3.35pm local time.
The New York City medical examiner’s office says the death of actor Heath Ledger was an accident caused by a mix of prescription drugs.
A statement released by the medical examiner’s office Wednesday said Ledger died from the combined effects of six prescription drugs, which included pain killers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medications (oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine).
